A 2000 s.f. 4-bedroom home for a small site in the forest hills neighborhood of Durham, NC. The home is on densely wooded site is perched atop a hill directly adjacent to the new tobacco walking and biking trail, with easy access to downtown Durham. The materials were selected to harmonize with the natural environment. All the rain water from the single sloop roof is collected in rain barrels for use in the owner’s garden. Porous concrete pavers are used to minimize storm water run-off.
